[ATA is a professional association founded to advance the translation and interpreting professions and foster the professional development of individual translators and interpreters. Its 11,000 members in more than 90 countries include translators, interpreters, teachers, project managers, web and software developers, language company owners, hospitals, universities, and government agencies.

Association membership is available to individuals (Active, Corresponding, Associate, Student) and organizations (Corporate, Institutional).

One of ATA‘s primary missions has been to promote the professional development of translators and interpreters. The association holds a number of conferences throughout the year in support of this goal.

The ATA Annual Conference  is held each fall in a major city or popular resort area. This four-day event showcases panel discussions, expert presentations, training workshops, and scholarly papers. The conference also features a job marketplace, a vendor exhibit hall, certification testing, and networking sessions designed to build professional contacts for attendees. Francine Kuipers, the CEO and co-founder, is an educator and language consultant. She has operated professional language companies since 1986.

The linguistic services offered by Accent on Languages, Inc. include translation in over 120 languages, localization, transcription, voice-over, 24/7 over-the-telephone, and face-to-face interpreting in both spoken languages and American Sign Language.

We have numerous clients among State and Federal agencies as well as the business community.

Accent on Languages is a corporate member of the American Translators Association (ATA) and Northern California Translators Association (NCTA), and subscribes to the ATA Code of Professional Conduct and Business Practices.

The company is also a member of the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA), and also subscribes to their good practices recommendations.

Ms Kuipers is also the co-founder and CEO of Berkeley Language Institute, a training center for interpreters and translators. She is well respected in the industry and regularly teams up with various language companies on large service contracts. Accent on Languages has built a solid reputation of ethical business practices in the translation and interpreting fields since 1986.
